RLC students shine in University of Waterloo mathematics competitions

Each year, many students from Rosseau Lake College participate in different Math contests throughout the school year.   In February, RLC was represented by 23 students at the Pascal (grade 9), Cayley (Grade 10), and Fermat (Grade 11) contests.  The results were received recently, and several students were recognized for their outstanding achievement.

The following students were awarded by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing – Faculty of Mathematics at University of Waterloo:

Grade 9:   

Zoe Shao – Medal and Certificate of Distinction

Grade 10:

Andy Niu – Medal and Certificate of Distinction

Chen He – Certificate of Distinction

Grade 11:

Thomas Ma – Medal and Certificate of Distinction

Ginger Yang – Certificate of Distinction

Jimmy Fu – Certificate of Distinction

Tommy Wang – Certificate of Distinction

A medal is awarded to the top students in their Grade at their school, while a Certificate of Distinction is awarded to students who ranked in the top 25% of all contestants (worldwide!) in each contest.
