Raised on the shores of Lake Rosseau itself, Kayla knows what it means to live and learn in Muskoka. She joined the Grade 7 class at RLC as a day student in 2004 and never looked back. Six years later brought her graduation from RLC and the beginnings of life as a university student at the University of Guelph. She graduated in 2014 with a B.Sc. in Zoology then headed straight to the University of Guelph – Ridgetown Campus for an additional 2 years, pursuing her dream of working with animals. She graduated with honours in 2016 with an Associate Diploma in Veterinary Technology. She currently works as a Registered Veterinary Technician at a veterinary hospital in Toronto. Despite her new life in the big city, Kayla’s unwavering affinity for nature has kept her a regular visitor of both Muskoka and RLC. She looks back at her time at RLC with deep fondness, especially field hockey, out trips, and Bob’s cooking. Kayla was nominated and elected to the Board of Directors at their November meeting, and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute back to the RLC community that she got so much out of during her time at the school.
